100% Digital Hearing Aids?

What is a 100% Digital Hearing Aid?

Digital hearing aids give you maximum amplification to hear soft sounds you want to hear, like the sound of a child's voice.  They also provide minimum amplification for the loud sounds that you may find distracting.

Most hearing aid wearers have a hard time hearing soft sounds, yet hear load sounds just fine.  The problem is, analog a.k.a. "normal" or "conventional" hearing aids provide one preset increase in volume.  They amplify all sounds the same.  This often makes loud sounds too loud.

Beltone's 100% digital hearing aids are more comfortable to wear because they treat loud and soft sounds differently.  These sophisticated digital circuits give you more amplification to help you hear soft, high-frequency sounds.  They automatically adjust to keep loud sounds from becoming too loud and uncomfortable.

100% digital hearing aids take the your specific hearing loss into account.  When you get your hearing tested, your hearing instrument specialist finds out at exactly how much hearing loss you have.  He/she does this by testing at what level you can hear a broad spectrum of tones called frequencies.  In order to hear your best, a hearing aid needs to amplify sounds to a level you can hear, at each one of these frequencies.

With a 100% Digital hearing aid, we are able to program the hearing aid with the computer to specifically match your hearing loss.  It not only gives you the help where you need it, it gives you the right amount of help for each one of the frequencies according to your hearing loss.
